As part of the custodial team at Witzwil Correctional Facility, I was the primary contact person for up to six inmates and supported their gradual reintegration through structured casework and social-pedagogical measures. I worked closely with employment supervisors, specialist staff from forensic psychiatry, healthcare professionals, referring authorities and other internal and external partners. My responsibilities included defining and evaluating individual objectives, preparing and reviewing sentence plans, maintaining contact with inmates’ relatives and coordinating leave arrangements. I addressed disciplinary violations, supported inmates in reflecting on their offences and encouraged personal accountability and reparation. I was also responsible for correspondence with internal and external authorities, as well as preparing progress reports and documenting sentence developments for courts and referring authorities. In addition, I helped maintain a safe and socially responsible residential environment through supervision, cell inspections, mediation and appropriate social-pedagogical interventions.
