During my time at the Justizvollzugsanstalt Witzwil, I worked in the correctional services team and acted as a direct point of contact for up to six inmates, supporting them in preparing for release through social work and social-pedagogical guidance. As part of my supervisory responsibilities, I also helped maintain a structured and orderly daily routine in residential units with up to 40 inmates. My role included defining and reviewing individual goals together with inmates in close collaboration with occupational guidance staff, forensic psychiatric professionals, the healthcare service, referring authorities, and other internal and external partners. I prepared and reviewed sentence execution plans, maintained contact with relatives, and coordinated leave arrangements. I also addressed disciplinary issues, supported inmates in developing new behavioural patterns, and contributed to both release preparation and reintegration. In addition, I handled ongoing correspondence with internal and external agencies and wrote correctional and progress reports for courts and referring authorities. Another important part of my work was helping to ensure stable and socially sustainable group living within the residential units through supervision, cell checks, mediation, and targeted social-pedagogical measures.
