Informatiker Applikationsentwickler EFZ
The apprenticeship in software development in Switzerland lasts four years. During the first two years, it includes two days per week at vocational school, followed by one day per week during the final two years. The remaining time is spent at the training company, where I worked in agile teams on real client projects using the company’s in-house framework, “evidence”.
During my apprenticeship, I gained practical experience with C#, especially .NET 4.8, Visual Studio, and SQL Server. I completed my final project using .NET 8, EF Core, and Blazor (including Radzen Blazor Components).
At vocational school, I learned the full range of software development fundamentals, from programming languages such as Python, Java, and JavaScript, to core concepts like object-oriented programming, relational databases, and project management methods, all the way to independently carrying out smaller projects involving DevOps, software architecture, and interfaces.
My apprenticeship at Glaux Group AG was highly practice-oriented and prepared me very well for my entry into professional software development.
